SUPPORT TO FOUNDATION LEARNING TO LIVE

The Pro-Aid for Education Foundation for Diabetics. A non-profit organization that enables Model Education Centers for diabetic patients, with the firm commitment to work continuously in an objective search to improve the quality of life of diabetics in the Dominican Republic.

Learning to Live, puts in the hands of children and young Dominicans, a real project that will give them an opportunity to enjoy their life in quality. The foundation uses all its available human resource and all the possible economic resources, to build a real and viable future, where based on education and knowledge, patients with a good medical treatment can enjoy health without complications.

The foundation was born with the purpose of enabling Model Education Centers for diabetic patients in the country, and even more importantly, with the firm commitment to work continuously in an objective search to improve the quality of life of patients through tools, education and awareness programs.

Currently over 100 children of the Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital, weekly benefit from the program I Am Learning to Live, which receive, under continuous monitoring of the Center’s endocrinology department, medications (insulin), education sessions (Control-Nutrition-Activity Physics), glucometers, nutritious foods, and all the support material that can contribute to a new lifestyle for them.
